Marching Band

The Oak Creek High School Marching Knights of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, proudly enter their 21st year in continuous pursuit of musical excellence. The 195 member Marching Knights include all students enrolled in the Oak Creek High School Band. Throughout the year, members enjoy a comprehensive music education program that provides opportunities in Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Combo, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, Solo/Ensemble, Pit Band, and Music Theory. The band travels throughout the year to perform in marching contests, jazz festivals, and clinics across Wisconsin and the United States. Last April the Oak Creek High School Band traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for their annual performance tour. While there, the band performed at Charleston Southern University and worked with Professor Krista Mulcahy while enjoying a wide variety of cultural and educational experiences. Last Spring the Marching Knights also appeared as the grand finale ensemble in UW-Parkside’s production of The Music Man. The members of the Oak Creek High School Band take great pride in their musical accomplishments and reputation for maintaining the highest standards of integrity.

The 2009 Oak Creek High School Marching Knights are extremely proud to present their production of Cirque Du Soleil’s Ka. The four movements include “Storm,” “Flight,” “Pursuit,” and “Battlefield”. Representing energy, spirit, and the fire within, the word Ka symbolizes the duality of fire in its power to illuminate or destroy. This unpublished show features custom music arrangements by Jay Dawson with percussion by Jim Reed and drill designed by Bob Buckner. We are exceptionally honored to premier this unique and powerful production. We wish to give special thanks to Jay Dawson for this most distinguished opportunity as well as his continuing friendship.
