Friends of the Marching Knights, Inc.

The Friends of the Marching Knights, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt Wisconsin corporation created by several interested band parents as a private organization which is not affiliated with the Oak Creek Franklin School District, and which operates separately from the High School Band Department.

Our organization was initially created to purchase, own, and maintain the 24 foot trailer used to transport the Oak Creek Marching Knights’ equipment to marching competitions. In addition, we also maintain the customized garden tractor generously donated by the Senior Band Class of 2005 and the flatbed trailer used to take equipment onto the field for football game performances and marching competitions.

Our activities and purchases have been funded by the generous donations of numerous band families, the Senior Band Class of 2004, several local businesses, and proceeds from Bradley Center events worked by volunteers in cooperation with the Men In Black Scholarship Fund. Most recently, the Senior Band Class of 2006 paid for two memorials for Band Director Gary Kautenburg that are proudly displayed on the sides of the trailer.

However, we continue to seek donations and raise additional funds to insure the trailers, add to a continuing maintenance fund, and provide additional support to the Oak Creek Marching Knights.

Because we are a non-profit corporation, and because we have been granted status as a charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, donations to the Friends of the Marching Knights, Inc. are tax deductible.

In addition, your contribution goes directly to benefit your child as a member of the Oak Creek Marching Knights. The money raised by our organization is used only to benefit the band and does not go to any other organization or activity.
